The Series Championship consists of a 1.2 mile swim and a 2.4 mile swim. Swimmers will complete 1 or 2 laps of the same course. The race will start and finish at the boat dock. You will not exit the water if you compete in the 2.4 mile swim - the turnaround for lap 2 is in the water.
We will start the races at 800AM. See you on October 8!

Sanctioning and insurance:
Each race is privately insured. No membership fee is required.
You must be 12+ to compete in the 1.2 mile and 14+ to compete in the 2.4 mile.
Wetsuits will be allowed under 78 degrees. No wetsuits over 78 degrees will be allowed.
Entry fees for the 1.2 mile championship swim are $30 until 1 month prior to the event, and $37 thereafter. Entry fees for the 2.4 mile swim are $40 until 1 month prior, then $47 after. There is no race day registration available.

No refunds or transfers for this event.
In the event of inclement weather the following procedures will be followed:
1. The event will be delayed 45 minutes in hopes the inclement weather will pass.
2. If inclement weather does not pass in 45 minutes, the swim will be cancelled and no refunds or transfers will be issued.
The top three males and females and top master (40+) will receive overall custom awards. Top 3 in each 5-year age group will also receive awards.
Specially designed t-shirts will be given to competitors who sign up 2 weeks prior. We will do our best to provide t-shirts to everyone who signs up, but if you sign up in the last week we won't guarantee a t-shirt.
Entries are limited to the first 300 entrants per event in 2016.
There are no make-up dates. We will only cancel an event if absolutely necessary for the safety of participants.

Why open water?
We are big fans of open water racing and training, and while North Carolina has plenty of triathlons, we don't have a lot of organized open water races. We're changing that!
